Discovered a crack in the bottom gusset of my Inbred (4 years old). I don't remember hitting anything that hard but who knows what really caused it. Sadly its out of warranty so I'll be looking into A) seeing if the problem can be fixed and/or B) a new frame.

In the meantime, I'll be forced to ride a geared bike for the first time in a long while. Until I get some time, that is, to convert it to SiSp. :D

I'm sure going to miss my old Inbred pal.

Sorry to hear, me friend. Best of luck gettin' 'er fixed up.

Of course you know that some of us would use this as a chance to justify a shiny new 29er frame.

God speaks to me in strange ways... :)

Bought the frame in Dec 2001. I don't do jumps or drops (generally 1ft or less) but I'm also not what you'd call a butter smooth rider either.
Yep thats where they break. Almost every inbread I've seen over 2 years old has had this happen to them. Think your self lucky that you got four years out of it. Most the ones I've seen go just as the waranty expires. Kona units are even worse. 3 guys I know were lucky to get a year on a unit before the chain stays broke but the upside to that is they are still covered by waranty.

Just wrap it in fiberglass and finish it off with some duct tape, you'll be fine!
Ok, I'm kidding.

I have a friend who thinks that most structural problems on bike frames can be solved with fiberglass and expanding foam. The guy really kind of frightens me. That said, he also did the brazing on my Marlin EBB conversion, kind of a frightening thought, and one reason I upgraded to a RIG and have put the Marlin on backup duty.

I agree that its a great excuse to upgrade to a 29er. The new On-One 9ers look sweet.

Then what's he "complaining" about ?
I wasn't "complaining" about anything. Just mourning the loss of a good friend. I hadn't contacted Zedsport just yet so didn't know about the discount. That is VERY good news. Thank-you Brant! I have nothing bad to say about the bike or the company and its great to know that I'll be able to be on a new Inbred in short order.
