I have a 2007 rush with a manitiou rear shock and want to upgrade to a fox rp23, the cdale website has it listed as a 7.5x 1.75 is that right? would a 7.5X2.0 make the bike ride horrible?

Yes, 7.5x1.75 is the correct size. A 7.5x2.0 would probably provide a slightly more plush ride and more travel, but would void your warranty.
If you are going to go through the upgrade, you might as well get it through your Cannondale dealer and get the correct stroke length for your warranty's sake. I would hate to hear that for some reason the 7.5 x 2.0 broke your frame and you cannot get a warranty replacement. Bottom line: If you are gonna spend the money, do it right.
bought it used, so warranty dont mean a thing!

one alternative would be to look at shocks with a more tunable bottom out adjustment, like the dhx, or the manitou six way shocks... then it could be tuned to prevent any metal to metal contact on the frame. This is more of an issue on the late model rush frames with the small bridge that goes between the left and right chain stays.

alternately, you could stick with the rp23, but either order it from cannondale in the right stroke if you can't get it anywhere else... but I'd bet good money that push ind. would work up a shock for you with the right eye to eye and stroke...
Just did the upgrade from a Fox RP2 to a RP23 High Volume Canister on a carbon frame (L). I called Cannondale, they said it should be fine. I called Fox they said it should be fine. Been riding since the upgrade and everything is fantastic!!!
Only an O.E. part from Fox, not for aftermarket sale

I looked in to this when I was building my '09 Rush. I bought a Rush 7 and stripped it down to the frame and built it up with a RP23. I tried to find one from Fox, they said that size was only for Cannondale, call Cannondale. Cannondale rep said they didn't have any for sell. I went to ebay and bought a used one:thumbsup: I have a brand new Manitou for sell, never used;)

Here it is in the post your Rush thread, #79 http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?p=1319190&page=8
@dexon555, did you do the 2" stroke shock? just curious... also, how do you like the high volume air canister? How does it change the ride?
Yes, I Bought a Fox RP23 High Volume Shock (7.5x2.0), from ebay new. I love it. It makes for a smoother, plusher mid stroke and 2 extra Platform settings. I like running it in setting #1, I ride in South Florida, lots of Limestone rock and roots.
