Hey all,

I recently bought a used 2015 Cannondale Scalpel 4 with a lefty 2.0. On my first ride, like an idiot, I rode it in climb mode for about 3 hours on all kinds of terrain, up, down, and rocky. I was wondering why it felt so stiff, and went through the owner's manual when I got home. I don't remember what the fork felt like when I first got the bike and am concerned that I did some damage.

The fork compresses fine, and makes a little bit of noise like any other suspension fork. However, I can feel the needle bearings move as I compress the fork. Video of the fork here:

Can anybody let me know if this is normal?

Presuming you can't access the service history of the Lefty get it serviced by an authorised service centre or whatever. It will maximise the chances of it not eating itself in the long term.

FWIW the lock-out has a blow-off valve so it should be OK in that regard.
