I have had enough time to give some initial impressions of the RS Revelation.
First, get the U Turn model. I have the dual air and wish I could crank it down for long climbs. This fork is a smidgen taller than a Fox Vanilla. I had to pull a spacer and put it above the stem to get the same ride height as my Vanilla. No biggy but U turn would be cool because I could keep the higher bar on a descents.
Second, SO SMOOTH! The fork is like butter bouncing through the rocks. No spikes in the travel at all. It is a progressive fork.
Third, I weight close to 190lbs with the Mule on my back. The Revelation works best for me at 110 lbs of positive and 100 of negative. Still working on dialing it in.
Fourth, Pop Lock deal is cheesy. I'm going to call RS and downgrade the fork to the model with the controls on the top of the fork. I don't need a lockout or firmer fork for climbing; however, I do like the compression dampening to lessen wallow.
Fifth, this fork is 3.78 lbs before cutting the steerer.
Sixth, dampening is unbelievable. Very controlled at hight speed. The dampening reminded me of a Minute without the tendency to firm up at low speed.
This may be the perfect cross country fork for the Spot. I don't want a Maxle or a 518mm fork. However, if I was using the Spot for more technical and freeridish play, I would definately get the Pike. Either fork is great but I think the Revelation is better suited for cross country.
