I have had enough time to give some initial impressions of the RS Revelation.

First, get the U Turn model. I have the dual air and wish I could crank it down for long climbs. This fork is a smidgen taller than a Fox Vanilla. I had to pull a spacer and put it above the stem to get the same ride height as my Vanilla. No biggy but U turn would be cool because I could keep the higher bar on a descents.

Second, SO SMOOTH! The fork is like butter bouncing through the rocks. No spikes in the travel at all. It is a progressive fork.

Third, I weight close to 190lbs with the Mule on my back. The Revelation works best for me at 110 lbs of positive and 100 of negative. Still working on dialing it in.

Fourth, Pop Lock deal is cheesy. I'm going to call RS and downgrade the fork to the model with the controls on the top of the fork. I don't need a lockout or firmer fork for climbing; however, I do like the compression dampening to lessen wallow.

Fifth, this fork is 3.78 lbs before cutting the steerer.

Sixth, dampening is unbelievable. Very controlled at hight speed. The dampening reminded me of a Minute without the tendency to firm up at low speed.

This may be the perfect cross country fork for the Spot. I don't want a Maxle or a 518mm fork. However, if I was using the Spot for more technical and freeridish play, I would definately get the Pike. Either fork is great but I think the Revelation is better suited for cross country.

I have never ridden a Float

Jaybo: have you tried the Fox Float, if so, what differences do you find with the Revelation. Thanks
However, I have ridden a Talas. I like the Revelation a bit better. It just seems smoother. We shall see how the Revelation holds up over time. I know the Float and Talas are rocks solid over the long term.

That thing sounds like the Pike on a diet. I.e., very nice.

If you want to change the ride height you can increase the negative spring to a pressure higher than the positive spring (say, 10 psi). That makes the fork sink into its travel a little. Basically forces it to sag. If you had an old Vanilla (497mm A-C), then the Revelation is indeed a bit taller at 507mm. The new Vanillas are the same height as the RS.

I've been riding the Revelation for a few months. I've had the same positive feelings. Better than a PUSHed TALAS.

The Maxle would be nice, but I didn't want to spring for a new hub, and I probably don't hit things hard enough to need it.

In my opinion.

Didn't you just buy Jimmy's Push'd Vanilla? Why the change?

I swear, you Turner guys switch forks like Shiggy switches tires...

Anyway nice review.
I like the Revelation better than the Pushed Vanilla. It is nearly as smooth with more adjustability at 1/4 lb lighter weight. Plus, I can sell the Vanilla for $300 and I'm into the Revelation for less than $100. Not bad. Got a great deal. Last, I can always have Push work over this fork in the spring. I'm not sure if I need to do that.

I am 230. Would this fork do OK for me? What configurations would you change. I am looking for a new fork for my soon to be had 06 spot.

Beyond Bikes was having a blow out deal: 20% over Thanksgiving. I just had Universal price match the deal.

I think the Revelation would be fine for you unless you like to do drops and get crazy. I don't do that, so I chose a Revelation. The Pike is going to be stiffer with the 20mm hub but you would need a new front wheel with a 20mm hub. It would definately be stiffer. The Pike is more money too. However, Push among others, have stated the springed Pike is the ultimate in plushness. Tough call. I like light bikes and am not really into a 20mm front wheel due to my fairly finese riding style (wimpy :) )
