That's hilarious... who the fock needs a sealed drivetrain for a cafe cruiser?:D
But if it makes it to a proper MTB then we're talkin turkey!

Too bad Ts isn't around... I bet he'd try to bolt one up to his RFX.:p

That's sweet! Pop in a set of 4:11 gears and some cheater slicks and head to the strip. I don't know, CC...all that might happen is that EC would trade broken rear ders for twisted drive shafts...LOL!

wasnt that him in the pic?

yeah, if it were to trickle down into a light, reliable system someday, that would be a substancial move fwd in drivetrains.

I honestly think a Saint setup would solve my der woes, problem is I'm addicted to gripshift and the Sram shifting, the rear der/hanger is not designed for the type of riding or terrain that a full travel rig like an RFX allows us to ride nowadays. DT also said he *might* do a Highline type der guard mount for the other models when/if he does the rear Maxle, I bet that would be more durable but the der would still need to be beefed up like the Saint.

With the emergence of the top normal Saint offering, I'm about to give Shimano another chance. Taking the hanger/dropout out of the equation is a huge step forward. Then add a MUCH beefier derailleur and you might have the strongest and most efficient drivetrain available. Rohloff & G-boxx both suffer from drag, and proprietary componentry woes.

SRAM's attack shifter will enable you to grip shift a Shimano derailleur.

I used to run the gripshift with Shimano der's before Sram came out with their der's, it wasn't near as light action or precise. I was seriously considering the Saint setup but the problem is I've decided to go with a lighter trail wheelset to compliment my existing heavy Sun Ringle wheelset, I will need to switch between them depending on the ride and it's too much hassle to switchout the shifting also. I even went as far as asking SR if I could retrofit a Saint axle on my existing rear wheel and they said no, so I would of had to rebuild the rear wheel with a saint hub, have the new wheelset built with a heavy Saint hub AND use Shimano shifting, not worth it for me.
