I took a mini vacation from the Denver metro and drove across Colorado to the Southern corner. En route I drove by so many great trails that i lost count. I guess that's the thing about living in paradise. I remeber when I lived in Texas and had to drive for countless hours before i got "somewhere" Up here there's lots of here here.

I digress. Destination:The Eastern slope of the San Juans (which are very different from the western slope) up near the headwaters of the Rio Grande. I met up with a friend and we rode the Lost Creek Trail up to West Lost Creek Trail. Tasty stufff. All the more tasty as it's not a Mountain Biking Destination (caps intentional). The hushed tones with which folks discuss areas such as Fruita, Durango, Crested Butte and the like are not used for Creede.

Here's the first of a few pics, taken near the beginning of the trail which was a nice climb that alternated through dense aspen groves and open view-laden areas.

Sweeeeeet! But............

looks like the ATVers have been raping the trails, Bummer.

I'd still hit those trails, tho. Looks like some outstanding riding.
