Rougemont is officially off the map. ADSVMQ (your local trail advocacy group in Quebec) worked on the project for almost 2 years, you can get the last statement on the website:

http://adsvmq.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3776&highlight=statut+rougemont
(in french)

As for other places to ride in Quebec (and Eastern Ontario and New England), check out:`

www.AllezY.net/rep_sentiers

You'll find a google map of all official areas where riding is permitted. You'll find map, driving directions, weather, interactive forum, ride reports with tons of pictures... But all in french.

Don't let the language barrier fool you, you can drop by the forum and ask all the questions you want! We also have a couple of people from RideMonkey.com who come online to post pictures and stuff...

Enjoy!

That's a shame about Rougemont, it was a great place to ride, nice and close (I work in St-Hubert). I was in the parking lot last week and saw a few cars with bike racks though????

Any other places on the South Shore, other than CV that you know of?

Check out the ride directory posted before... I ride on Mont Royal once in a while... but that's because it's 2min from home... but totally illegal... Again, ADSVMQ is working on that with "Les Amis de la Montagne" as you probably have read in "La Presse" a couple of weeks ago...

If you can't find any good riding in your area, browse through the trail directory and you'll find something for sure!

Hope this helps!
