Just finished the build on this beauty today..

Rode it to the top of Mt. Tamalpais to de-virginize and take in the epic sunset. I think I have a perpetual smile :D

Nice bike.

Good to see you used lots of truing fluid when doing the wheels.

That is 1 of the best Rip9 builds I have seen,You will love it.

Weight

According to my math (adding up the weights of each component based on the online information I could find) it comes out to 27.3871 lbs with the Crank Bro's pedals and 27.6781 lbs with the Xpedo pedals.

This does not include the weight of the chain stay guard (couldn't find it online but it should not be much) or the Stan's No Tubes. I have to figure that is not much either, it's basically just the rubber sealant, but who knows...

I have yet to hang it on a bike scale. I will let you know when I do though.

Back to the trails...

Mine is 28.00 on the dot, but is a bit lower depending on if I'm racing or not (tire change). Grams first, LBs second. Don't know the weight of my Shimano brakes. Can't complain with how they work, so it is hard to replace them.

Looks like the primary weight diff between yours and mine is in the tires and wheels (wheels: stans flows with I9 = 4.34lbs, tires: bontrager fr3 and jones = 3.8 lbs). Interestingly, my med frame weighs almost a pound more than yours...go figure! :)

Don't know where I got the 6.5 pounds from. But yours has to be the same. Both anodized. Weighed mine on two different scales and they both came up almost exactly the same. Who knows for sure. but I started at 30.4 on my scale.

put mine on a scale yesterday and it came out to 28.25...not quite sure where the extra weight comes from. maybe all the dust that is starting to accumulate? ;)

Anyone have any tips on cleaning?
