My Dos

Here is my 04 or 05 Dos Niner. I picked it up off the want ads this winter I've loved riding it ever since. As a race bike it is fast and precise on the steering. It provides the perfect amount of cushin and I feel increased traction.

Tire Bicycle tire Bicycle frame Wheel Bicycle wheel

I'm currenlty cosidering what I'm going to do about an El Mariachi... its a beautiful bike that I would love to have... I just need to find out what I"m going to sell to buy it... Maybe its about time I sold my good old cross bike + my single speed.... then I could maybe afford it.

So far I love this bike, climbs good, goes down fast, handles great and super light.
Only thing I don't like is the stand over is a little high, its a 20" frame and I'm 5'11' 3/4.
So its at little tall but I love the reach so I live with it.

Dos & El Santo

Here are my Salsas. I'm lucky enough to be using the Dos Niner and the El Santo for endurance racing. (Marathon, 6/12/24 Solos). I've split time so far this year with both of them, but I'm pretty sold on the 29er and next year I plan to lighten up my Dos and use it as my main race bike and get either an El Mariachi or (GASP!) other brand 29er as a back up and training bike. Or hell anothe Dos! No knocks on the El Santo. GREAT ride. I'm just pretty damn smitten the Dos and the ability to get comfort, roll over obstacles and keep the weight down

The Dos has SRAM Drive/XT Crank/Salsa Delgado/XT wheels etc., etc.,
El Santo ha Full XT Drive/XT Mavic Wheels/Fox 100 RLT etc., etc.,

Here's the picts. Pardon the rider in some of them.

Posted in 29er board a while ago:

Specs:
Frame: 18" (I'm 6' even with 31 inseam and like to err on the side of smaller frames)
Fork: Reba SL
Wheelset: Hope Pro 2 hubs-Salsa Delgado 29er rims-DT Comp spokes-Kenda Klaw tires
Brakes: Avid BB7s
1X9 Drivetrain: X9 Rear der, X9 shifter, LX cranks, 32t ring with Salsa bashring and N-Gear jumpstop
Stem: Salsa Scandium 90mm
Bars: Salsa Pro Moto 11* Alu and Oury grips
Seatpost: Bontrager Race X Lite ACC (Carbon post - Alu inner sleave)

I LOVE MY DOS! Handles FL's tight, twisty, steep ups and downs like a charm. Very snappy handling and comfy!

Thought I'd chime in, this is my Ala Carte which I had a couple of years ago, nice bike, pretty harsh feeling for steel though, in my opinion.

I love those El-M's by the way! :)

What size frame?

Jason,

What size frames are your Dos and Mariachi?

Just curious, as we're around the same size, so I'd like your opinion. I'm 6' even and 31" inseam. My Medium 06 Dos seems a tad too small, and I'm thinking of going with a Large El Mariachi.

Any input you have would be great.
Thanks
Brian
