Go down to Enel's post concerning the Rohloff/Ventana build.

I'm offering up a crispy ten dollar bill to anyone that can guess the weight of the rear wheel, ready to run with tire/tube/disc and cog... within two ounces. I was AMAZED at the weight!

Just havin' fun, pleez no flames.

(Eric, don't spoil my fun man! You know the answer.....)

Clox,

You win the obvious. I was referring to the rear wheel weight, but didn't mention it from the get go in THIS thread.

Now.....guess the wheel weight, and PM me details to send your ten bucks....I'm an honest guy.

7.89 lbs.

Do I win? You can believe that I didn't look at the answer first or else I would have guessed the exact weight. As you can see, I was off by .01 lbs. Nobody is perfect I suppose. Where's my ten bucks?

Dang it! Wish I'd checked that thread yesterday. Coulda been 10 bucks richer today, because I'd have guessed 3600g without knowing the answer. Sounds outrageous, but remember that includes a complete drivetrain. Quick math in my head just using ballpark figures, some of which are probably off:

Rohloff hub: 1800g. Delgado rim: 550g. Spokes/nips/tape: 250g. Tube: 200g. Rotor: 150g. Tire: 600g.
