I am looking to purchase a RockShox Pike for a Timberjack that is running 27.5” x 2.8” tires. I see they offer a 29” or 27.5” version. What is the difference between the 2, if any?

You could run either for 27.5x2.8. The 29” fork will have a taller axle to crown length, more tire clearance, and the ability to run 29” wheel if you ever choose to do so.

I would get the 29” fork personally. The timberjack will take a 541mm axle to crown length fork maximum.
