RockShox MC 3.1/ compression not working

934 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  jumper780
Been on the bike for three years now with no problems. I ride about 3 times a week (21miles weekly). Recently, the compression platform just quit working. Even if I dial the compression to full firm, it just keeps bobbing like I had no compression adjustment. I found a rebuld kit with some seals from bikestop http://www.ebikestop.com/rockshox_ariomc3_rear_shock_service_kit-FK7274.php

but my question is, will this kit fix this? I mean its not leaking air and the rebound still seems to work. My other question is, if this kit will not fix it, is it better just to purchase a monarch since the MC series is no longer produced?

Thanks

It's possible that it's running low on shock oil. Have you checked the oil levels?
You are far beyond a service at 3 years old should change oil at 1 year or 75-100 hrs. , get it serviced by a Rshox tech, easy to do.Probably 100$ or so.

Ya, your right about that. I will check the fluid levels and seals, if that doesn't work of to RS.
