I am not sure if I should have posted this here, or in the suspension forum, but here goes. I am trying to rebuild a Judy XC from a 96 Stumpjumper M2 Comp, and I cannot get the lowers off. I have looked at the manual, and it says if you remove the bolts from the bottom of the lowers, it should slide off. I am having no luck with that.

I got out all of the elastomers. They came out in chuncks. I can move the forks now, but cant get the lowers off. Any suggestions?

I forgot about that. Just tried it, and I can get them to move until the bolt bottoms out, and that is it.

Yep, I took the bolts back out. Still no go.

As the bishop said to the actress, pull harder.

With the bolt out and the inners unseated from the lowers, they should slide off. And by slide, that might mean it takes some effort.

Put a hub or wheel in the fork so you have something to pull against.

Or, if you have a longer bolt or some threaded rod with the same thread, pop it in a few turns and tap that with the mallet.

That's it, that's my creative problem solving done for the day...
