Well, it didn't suck to say the least. Not sure which was better... The folks or the riding. Luckily you don't have to choose just one.

Coming back to Colorado, I was playing the role of prodigal son. And just like the old fable, I was welcomed back with open arms. Thanks for that.

I broke camp at 5 am and drove 14 hours back to OK. At the "t minus 1 mile from home" mark, I rolled a yellow/red light. The officer gave me a friendly warning and a smile. That's the kind of weekend it was...

Way too many pics to process, but this should get us started. I'll dump more later this week with commentary.

Wow, clay, I'm impressed you got something up quick!

I have your sock and glove; PM me your addy and I'll ship away. Hopefully your helmet won't smell too much of river water since I put your shorts in it...hehe.

Great to meet you.

I'd also recommend doing Gaspin' in the Aspens in Northern New Mexico: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=537049

It is September 25-27! Lift day at pajarito/or guaje ridge ride (sat); south boundary (sun). Not sure what is in the cue for Friday!

Good times y'all.
It's hard to shake off the bliss, back in the office.

How was everyone's Sunday? We hit up Strand Hill and that was a great little trail. Perfect way to flow some of that lactic acid out of the legs before driving back.

Great riding with all of y'alls on Saturday and equally great to meet a lot of you. Doctor Park is truly something special. I had a few photos but they were lost when my memory card froze up and had a minor meltdown.

On Sunday, Treeman, Dirtydoug and I started at the Gothic trailhead and circumnavigated Mt CB via Upper, Upper Upper, Brush Creek and Deer Creek. That was a great ride.

We hit Kenosha Pass-EAST on the drive back, then gobbled up all the pizza we could stuff in at Woody's in Golden.

A few from Sunday

I didn't even get my camera out until Sunday. It was actually liberating to be surrounded by talent, so I could just focus on riding.

My legs were toasted by Sunday so I peeled off on a solo recovery ride from town. Woods Walk to the Lower Loop and back. It was nice to have more time to gawk at the scenery.

Oh okay... Here's the summary from Passion Thread

We started with 401 - some people say overrated - I'll let you judge...

After a rest from the first climb, we bombed down.

Crappy views

Oh the humanity!

The wildflowers were dying off and the skunk cabbage was turning yellow. Fall is right around the corner in the high country.

1 out of 1 doctor's approve of this ride and PBR.

Day 2 began with a fustercluck waiting around for 2 hours while the shuttle drivers came back. Keep in mind this was a colorado shuttle so it traversed several drainages - meaning we climbed well over 2000 feet over the course of the ride.

The views kept us busy and so did the pre -ride beers....

The dogs knew how to keep busy.

The main event - reno-flag-bear-doctor's.

Lots and lots of creek crossings kept the wool socks busy.

...and tight cornering kept the tires working too.

The gummies were in full force.

More rolly good fun.

Regrouping. 20 like minded souls gathered for this 4 hour ride.

While some folks go for the gummies, some go for the Dale's (only cuz they plan better).

Climbing up a 1000 foot climb to the start of the CT-Gunny spur called Doctor's Park.

The aftermath of the climb.

More gummies and beers before the last ST climb and descent down doctor's.

Post Ride libations as we draw straws for who has to fetch the last car... (thanks Dave and Ryan).

Here's some of the good folks that joined us....

Kirk - with a "k" - enjoying the initial 401 climb.

Evan showing his delight that he has wet wipes instead of Forest Service Toilet. That tree called and said it wants it's dignity back by the way.

Sally yawning from boredom as she waits for the shuttle.

What is this? Disney's Incredible Journey?!?!?

Rob - trying to decide if he can add anymore climbing to dust us on.

Joel pulling his best Zoolander pose. Who knew male models can ride.

John boy on the farm with a big ole plug of tobacky.

Campfire pixie.

Gay martians enjoying some old chub.

Good night, now!

Traveling Companion has stepped it up since I last rode with her! Fast and furious, she is...

This is how we roll!

Sheer beauty on 401.

Yup, that brown one is mine. Grendel dog has a playmate.

Joel givin the labs some love.

All that driving and shuffling bikes and people; sometimes is it nice to enjoy the view.

Fearless Clay parting the sea.

Them splashes felt good! It was mid-80s at altitude...

A few of them having fun. These are good people.

Don't forget to hydrate!

Ahhh....great weekend, great friends, great weather.
