My kid is on a 2019 24" reaper, most everything has been upgraded including 26" wheels and fox 36s set at 140.

I'm about to order a fox dps shock and I'm wondering if anyone has installed a longer shock? I'm assuming with ride9 set at slackest and a longer shock it would set the bike at steepest setting with longer travel.

Stock shock is 165x38 @120mm travel.

Any input?

There's quite a few shocks out there that are still 165 eye to eye but have a longer stroke than 38mm. You can maintain geometry by putting one of these shocks in there. That way you won't need to mess about with ride 9. just make sure that you have enough theoretical stroke in a harsh bottom out that you won't smash your seat tube in to the tire.



If you are still going to put a longer eye to eye shock in consider offset bushings. It's how the rocky EWS team ran their altitudes a few years back.
