How well does this set up work. I see a lot of people using negative stems and flat bars or drop bars, but fewer risers. I am building a FS 29er and have used risers for my 26ers in the past. Should I go Riser or flat?

Im-pos-si-ble to tell for any of us from here.

Just add up the numbers. Differences in BB heights, head tubes, headset stack height, fork length pre sag (as it sits at an angle anyway) and add in the 1 1/4" that the front axle sits higher. And of course you know best whether on your 26"er you had any spacers uder the stem, and the type of rise the stem had.

I have an inch of spacers, a riser stem and riser bar. Fits me just fine. It really depends on what you like and feel comfortable with.

i run the same on all my bikes, 29er or otherwise, bit of spacers, slight rise stem, and riser bar....works for me. i am sure theoretically some things should be adjusted but i seem to have the same fun on the rides so no worries here....
