I think the bike was designed around the 46mm.

A lot of people are choosing the 51mm & are very happy with them.

I have the Pike with 46mm on my Rip9 RDO & am very happy with it, I have the X Fusion with 51mm on my new Rip9 Alloy.

There isn't a huge difference either way IMO, However on the very steep climbs were you are only just keeping the front wheel down, I am liking the 46mm more.

I haven't swapped the forks in the bikes to see how different that is, Yet

FWIW, if anyone is looking at the 150mm Pike, the 51mm offset preserves the trail and wheel flop figures of the RDO's geometry with the 140mm Pike with a 46mm offset. It would also slacken the HTA about .5 degrees and lengthen the WB by 8mm.
