If I bought a RIP 9, could I use my 100mm front fork on it or does it require a 120+ for the geometry to work?

Im using a 100mm reba on mine, i love the way it rides! i like the steering better than the hardtail i took it off of. I have not however ridden a Rip with a 120 or 140 mm fork other than a parking lot test ride, so i dont have much to compare it to. I will be upgrading when budget allows, but using what i already had allowed me to build and ride my Rip a whole lot sooner :thumbsup:

Ive got a Fox teralogic so with a flick of a swich the bike goes from 120mm to 95mm. The 120 feels great on everything as does the 95mm.

If I had to pick a fork with a fixed amount of travel for the RIP 9, I would go with 120mm; it's what the bike was designed for. I certainly wouldn't go with less than 120mm.... not on a trail bike such as the RIP. I'm thinking a 140mm fork will make the bike feel like a chopper... but who knows... Seems like a no brainer to me... 120mm in the back, 120mm in the front.
