I'm rebuilding a hub for a friend and ran into some ugly that has me second guessing. His (never serviced) hub had rust (and dry as a bone) in the ratchet assembly. The teeth look different than any others I have seen. Can anyone tell me if the ratchet teeth are supposed to look like this, or, if they are worn? Notice they are flat on the top instead of most others I have pulled apart that are more of a full triangle (have a tip) on each tooth. Anyone know for this specific hub?
don't want to put a lot of work or any money into a hub that's going to die soon. What has me second guessing it might be made this way is the pawls are perfect (sharp edges, look almost new).
