When comparing similiar rims, what differences are there is their related dimensions pertaining to ride quality, stiffness, and/or function? This is one attribute I havent been able to pinpoint on the forum. Possibly for good reason-- i'm overthinking it!
My case in point is comparing ZTR Crest rims that are 24.4mm wide by 15.8 high rims to American Classic MTN 26 rims-- 26mm W x 23mm H.
Both are quality products, well liked and trust both would function just fine for my XC / light racing / somewhat rooty and sometimes rocky terrain. I'm @ 145lbs w gear.
So give me the technical side of why these rims are sized differently and if there are advantages or disadvantages.
