Would this be a bad idea since the rear has flex? Anyone done it?

Feedback please. I could shave roughly 2lbs off the front end by doing this.

Also on a small frame what would the appropiate Axle-to-Crown length be,425mm; 445mm; 465mm?

Someone on here has pictures of their pair of dos niners, one with a suspension fork and one with a rigid.


So, Yes, it's doable.

I've got a Pace fork on mine. Totally do-able. It rides quite nicely - to me, it feels no different than an 80mm suspension fork on a 26" wheeled mountain bike. I also run a nice, meaty exiwolf on the front wheel to provide a little extra cush. I also keep the softtail shock at a pretty high pressure (I don't know exactly what psi, but I keep it pumped up pretty high) - juuuust enough to take a little edge off.
