Happy Birthday USA!

Two weeks ago a group of us rode the Freeman Creek Trail in the Sequoia National Monument in the Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. While this trail is short on length it is long on quality. These majestic trees are awe inspiring and it was a real treat to ride amongst them. They are some of the oldest living things on the planet so 1776 and 1492, were last weekend, and last summer for these trees.

Here is the ride report

And for the video

Very nice Bill, but you could have edited out the spider part.

I show these videos to my friend to get her to come ride with us then she sees that spider.

Only one spider was harmed in the making of this video :)
I thought it was ironic that I had spider getting a free ride on my Spider. (Intense thought I know ;) )

That fellow was only 1/4" long. At least it was not one of these guys.

Now that would freak me out!
Eh. Bill actually stopped and grabbed that little guy to put on his bike for that photo.
That was way back before he had his Intense, though, so no Spider on a Spider jokes back then.

Cool pics

nice spider. Can you tell me what a "gaints" is though? Is that the type of spider it is? A hairy Gaints of the arachnid family?
thanks

A good set of rim brakes are better than most of the cheap discs systems that are popping up these days. Those brakes are no on their 4th bike. They went from that bike, to my short lived I-drive, the single-speed and now by kids first real MTB. That was my 2001 Schwinn Rocket 88 stage 3. A darn good climber and if you put a stable platform shock on one it would be really exceptional. Schwinn had issues with the 2000 design and they made some really good changes to the 2001 line. I have a friend who has a under utililized stage 2 that I have been trying to sweet talk him out of over a year.
