Riding trails with Xtracycle and kid-passenger on the deck

Does anyone have experience with trail riding (semi-technical) on an Xtracycle mountain bike with a kid riding on the deck as passenger?

My 5 y.o. daughter and I ride our Xtracycle all over town as a primary transportation and we are both very comfortable with it. She is not much of a bike rider herself, not a physical/gross motor kind of kid, but she does very well on the x and is comfortable enough to show off her "bike acrobatics".

I'm wondering if it would be fun to put on knobbies and try some trail riding this summer. I think most parents are doing trail-a-bikes and their proper mountain bikes, but since we already have the Xtracycle, I'm wondering if it would work as well or better.

Does anyone have real-world experience with an Xtracycle and passenger on the trails?

It's not going to work better than a trailabike, but you're going to be the innovator and trailblazer: go do it, snap some photos and post your report. Who knows, you could singlehandedly boost the cargo bike market to the next level when the trailabike crowd find out. I mean, if you love the rig, use it!
what will she hold onto on the xtracycle deck when you're bouncing down the trail? trail-a-bike is the way to go.
