I'm going to see my in-laws the middle of next month, and I want to take my bike. Are there any good places to ride around there? I'm mostly into DH & FR, that's why I posted this question here (duh). I've scanned the "trail reviews" page, and I just wanted somebody from Virginia to chime in.

BTW, I'm staying in Virginia Beach. Thanks for the info.

You'll have to drive about 3-4 hours west of Virginia Beach to find hills to go down.

There are some XC rides up near Williamsburg.

i know there is alot of urban in VA beach..check www.dcstreet.com or the VA surrounding areas in the ridemonkey forums..i live up north in manassas VA and i know me and my freind have some flowriding stunts in our yard. but there is not much fr downhill that i know of..there is thid one trail called ellzabeths furnace its got some really knarly sick dowhill but u have to pedal to the top

don't both with bringing ur DH bike to VA beach, nothing to ride there. A hardtail would be an entirely different story...

There's a race about hrs west of richmond in about a month if you wanna comeback
but in VA you would really need somthing for urban.

mostly urban in eastern VA. once you start headin west the mountains get bigger and bigger. massanuten i dont think is that far from VA beach. i know its like 3 hours from DC but yeah i got no clue how far from Va beach. probally about the same id assume.
