Riding in Vaughan

Hi all,
I am in the Vaughan area and I was wondering if there is anyone in here from the area who would know of any trails I could check out in the city. The City of Vaughan is not very well planned when it comes to bicycles. In addition to this question, if anyone can provide me with any news on cycling in the City of Vaughan that would be great. i do know they launched a so called "Master Bike Plan" a few years back, but I cannot seem to get any answers from city hall. Sometimes, I feel like picking up and moving somewhere like Ottawa where bike routes and infastructure where actually included in the urban landscape.

sadly slim pickings, lots of urban sprawl... i've heard of some built trails a few years ago around pine valley, but have no idea if they actually exisit. though there are lots of trails in the far north west corner, but you have to share them with orv's.
Yeah not much singletrack to be had in Vaughan unfortunately...good news is that it's a 20-30 drive to a bunch of trailheads. Closest probably being Centennial/King (on Jane a few km north of King Side Road) and then Albion/Dufferin Forest/Coulson's Hill...

There are a few ravines in the Thornhill Woods area that are decent if you link them up, starting in the forest behind the gas station at Thornhill Woods Drive & Hwy 7...
southwestern ontario and especially the GTA are way behind alot of communities when it comes to biking (trail or road).
lots of talk by government but very little action.

Thanks Tdotrider,
I never heard about the Jane King ones.
I will check them out this year.
King's a fun loop but it's kinda short at ~5km, I usually do a couple of laps before work or at lunch when time allows on weekdays throughout the summer...this coming summer I'm hoping to get into racing and I'll start with the Wednesday night race series at King, looks like a lot of fun...
Race series at King?
Do you have more information on that?
I might be interested.
Sure thing, it's put on by the Trek Toronto bike shop - http://www.superflyracing.com/wednesday-night-series/

I was going to try it last season but I wussed out...I'm hoping to hit the first race of the season there and see how I like it, figure it's a good way to get into racing...

I've done it a couple of times (I usually stick to Tuesdays at Albion) and it's a lot of fun. The crowd is smaller and more relaxed than Albion and Peter does a great job of setting interesting courses every week, which is surprising given how little trail he has to work with.
