If you were to be at Gibson and San Mateo and had an hour or two to ride, where would you go? If it makes a difference, your next move would be to head north on I-25 to sfe. Less driving = more time on bike before dark, or I'd be just going to white mesa.

This would be tomorrow, about 3PMish.

thanks

You'll be at SFH at 3:30ish? I'll be at the VA hospital, and try to leave there at 3...that gives me some time to change and drive to the TH.

I may try to meet you.

I searched, but had no luck....where is the trail head? Keep in mind I will be at Gibson and San Mateo, and basically don't know my way around ABQ at all.

I'd be interested in Placitas, but won't be able to be there until 4ish. any info on that area would also be appreciated.

I do have a light, and I do like to ride at night...not so much by myself on trails I don't know though.

If anyone wants to join me, call me at 505 699 5671 or maybe a PM. I'm not sure I'll be able to check this thread after about 8:30 this AM.

Never been on the SFH... is it similar to the NFH as far as flowing single track goes?

Or is it more Bando style with drops, boulder rolls etc?

The lower trail is kinda flowy, but has some good climbs.

The trail under the powerlines (higher elevation) is Bando approved  steep stuff.

had a nice ride with mn52 this afternoon. thanks for showing me around!

I had my ass handed to me on the first move of A-Line, then went and rode something fast and flowy instead. nice trail system.

i have a newer 575. I like steep and ledgy and technical riding, usually.

actually, i don't really know what went wrong. I was in good position and felt good rolling into it. Next thing you know I was over the bars and lying on my back. Dodged a few direct hits to cactus. My ankle is a little stiff this AM, but otherwise I'm fine.

Next time I'd like to see someone on it. It didn't really look all that aesthetic after that move...pretty loose.

Kudos for the effort..'specialy on that bike!

There's a reason that entry has been dubbed the "Molar Rolar" Once your in, you're in, and it gets steeper and looser the further you go.

There are quite a few steep, ledgy rollers out there on our normal route. I'd be happy to point them out for you sometime. :)

There is quite a bit of DNA...on A-Line.

Hmmmm....DNA-Line:thumbsup:
