For the last two years, I've been heading over to Las Vegas from Southern California (Riverside) to enjoy the fabulous weather and to enjoy the nice trails you guys have out there. Last week was no exception. We stayed in Henderson within easy driving distance to Bootleg Canyon and Blue Diamond.

On the last two trips, my son has been riding with me. Last year we both rode the railroad path from BC to the dam and Blue Diamond. This year, he joined me on portions of the XC trails at Bootleg Canyon. After I got my solo riding fix on Outer Caldera, my wife shuttled the both of us to the top of the hill and we rode back on Girlscout.

We also messed around on the pump track and the skills area, and the next day we went to Blue Diamond and rode Late Night and the Land Mine Loop Trail (wife shuttled us to the trail-head off the highway so he wouldn't have to ride up-hill). Nothing beats riding behind a 10-year old on a hardtail and watching his line-selection in the rough sections.

I've yet to ride the Cowboy trails and the stuff on Mt. Charleston.......I'll have to make time for them next year!

Thanks everyone! I do have a question, while riding Outer Caldera in a clock-wise direction, I noticed a trail that took off towards the East and away from the park. The trail descended mostly and then I ended up in a narrow wash. I continued on the trail and finally climbed out and I could see a highway (possibly Hwy 93?) That is as far as I got, I turned around and merged back onto Caldera and finished the loop on Boyscout just below the hilltop.

Do you guys know if its possble to ride this trail all the way through to the Hwy 93........I'm thinking a nice shuttle XC type ride would be to start at the hilltop, drop down and ride Caldera counter-clockwise, then finish on that trail and get picked up off Hwy 93...is this possible?
