Hi RM27,
I think you'll grow to like the Revelation - I think it's a really
good fork and I've yet to hear a negative review of it. I'm pretty sure that the clunk it due to an imbalance between + and - pressure. If the - pressure is significantly less than the + pressure, the fork legs extend to full travel (about 132 mm fully wound out) and the fork feels quite stiff to move initially. This limits small-bump response, but lessens the tendency for the fork to bob. This also causes quite a harsh top-out (clunk?). Having + pressure greater than - causes the stanchions to suck a few mm into the sliders, but gives a more pliant fork which responds well to small bumps. No top-out problems also.
I think RS quality control is pretty rigourous these days, so it's pretty unlikely that you have a case of "bad-
luck".
I'm looking forward to getting back on my ML on Sunday after two weeks enforced absence with an arm wound. Hopefully post some pics if the weather allows - it has been shite here in Scotland for weeks now. I really should move somewhere sunny, like maybe...
Portugal, say?
PS - working from memory here, so I may have mixed up + and -
