Would anyone recommend against reusing old spokes and nipples when rebuilding a new wheel? I'd like to swap out my rear hub and found that the spokes on one side are the right length, and the other side is 1 mm off. Do I need to get new spokes and nipples, or can I reuse my old ones?

Thanks.

Define "old" when referring to the parts. Months old? Years old? What sort of use? I generally would not reuse alloy nipples (or any nipples for that matter- they're cheap anyway). I have reused spokes from wheels that weren't too thrashed...

I've done it many times and have never regretted it. Just be reasonable and judge their prior life.
