DT responded to the Turner catalog question with the above (among other things): (http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=95889)

Thanks to the forum for the answers. DHX was quite special, and late. The Proto Nitrous rockers were not relieved for the air valve (dunno where that brain fart came from) . But the production shocks are placed as they are for easy access to the lever. Same for Flux and
Spot. The shock is under pressure so keeping the piston in the oil bath like motos of old is not an issue. Un sprung weight could be added to the mix but with a shock that weights close to nothing and has such a short range of movement, it's a moot point.
Big bikes are subjected to higher everything and they are much heavier so I try and take that into consideration. The lost puppy is the RFX Pack, (big change for 2006) RETURN OF THE RFX!!!! in name only) Seems to have been a stupid marketing move of confusion to re-name a perfectly well named bike. Anyway the shock on it is body up and the resy is subjected to moremovement. It has always been that way and if the resy was more swept I could flip it. But it's not, so I can't. Uhhhhh I quess I could say that the trail muck more easily falls away from the wiper making the seals last longer, yeah that's the ticket.

Figured this needed a thread all of its own :)

A Ford Mustang is a Ford Mustang is a Ford Mustang no matter how many times it gets tweaked. Leave the damn names alone already.

If someone could pull up the old threads with everyone SCREAMING at each other that "the 6 pack is NOT an RFX!!!!!" ....I would have a really good laugh.

That makes my 6-Pack a limited edition model.
Ahhh.. New name in '06, cool.
6-Pack Limited Edition? Naaaa... outa date.

Anybody want to sell their "out-of-date" 6-Pac? Knowing that your going to want to buy a '06 RFX.

:D

There will be no metal changes to the RFXPack in 2006. Maybe colors, any suggestions?

Puuuuuuuuleeeeeeeeease! COLORS! White and grey just don't fill out the choices. Yellow, green [that forest green] orange, black! And how about some real cool RFX sticker?

Wow, getting started early this year! I'm personally a big fan of the grey and white, but maybe the crazy folks who would really be pushing the bike to the limits need something a little more zany?

While we're making requests - how about adding some XL T-shirts to the inventory. The large one I got (which did not fit my massive manly chest) has now gone to the wife to sleep in. (Turner shirt on wife = better than viagra :D )

sparkly metallic Rootbeer Brown- not too dark. Not like the fox "garbage bag", lighter and more metallic

metal-flake Gold (similar to the nitrous ano, but gloss PC)

electric blue (I saw a flux painted "yamaha blue", looked killer)

SSINGA's orange looks really good

(these are the top contenders for my RFX 2006 repaint)

PS, I was in a local shop yesterday that had a large grey 'pack and great condition silver 2002 RFX hanging right next to each other. Pretty cool to compare them up close and see that the differences are really very very minor..... I had to compliment the shop owner on his fine selection!

In addition to the great info being shared on this forum I appreciate the humor.

Mister Renegade, does this mean you are ready to trade up to the new RFX/Pack for your out of date RFX? :D Must be the sexy head tube, huh?
