I was wondering if any of the SLC crowd knows if any of the ski areas are open for summer DH riding? I'm over in Elko, NV and don't really have a whole lot going on around here. Also, any good trail guide books for the Salt Lake area? Thanks!

I know of four resorts but im sure theres many more. Park City, The Canyons, Snowbird and Snow Basin all have downhill trails
Except don't go to Park City or the Canyons cause they don't really have down hill trails.
Ski Team in park city is fun and the trail that isn't on the map is awesome. Canyons is nice for pedaling.

Deer Valley is the the best in the area, but it doesn't compare to a real bike park. (but we love it anyway cause its here)

Tahoe

I'm not trying to be inhospitable, but unless you have another reason to come to SLC, drive west and go to Northstar in Tahoe. None of the resorts here are worth driving more than an hour. Deer Valley has the best trails, but really there's only 3-4 that any steeper than a regular XC trail.
