I'm rebuilding my 2014 Remedy 8 27.5 and am sad to find out that Trek used a proprietary shock on this bike, meaning my upgrade options are pretty much zero. All I have found that is available is a RockShox Monarch RT3. I did find some information about a DIY set up to fit a coil which I don't need, but I also found out about offset bushings being able to fit other shocks. Does anyone have any info or experience with this?

A bit more searching and I ended up at this PinkBike thread. Below is some more info if anyone is interested. Rear shock for my remedy - Pinkbike Forum. Basically, using offset bushings will net you 3mm of clearance, allowing you to run 200mm shocks instead of the 197 that came with the Remedy.

All info by a user named "spicer" is supplied in that thread if anyone is interested. I had no idea it was that easy, and to think I almost bought a Monarch RT3 thinking it was my only option.
