Hey there,

Looking to replace my headset on my 2000 Schwinn Moab 1, I know the current one is a ICBM Type I Cartridge Integrated, I believe the OD was 44-45mm but would something like this work? I found 2 from Hope, I'm sure others have something I'm looking forward as well, so suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Hope Integral Headset (Semi-integrated): This is the most common of the integrated/internal headsets. Using the 36/45 deg bearing size. This is the one you're usually going to see in MTB frames. 80g.Head tube bore: 44mm. Minimum depth into frame: 8.5mm (from wiggle.co.uk)

OR

Hope Integrated Headset: Integrated headset for road/lightweight XC MTB bikes.36/45 deg bearing size. 61g. 41.4mm head tube bore. 10mm depth into frame (only) (from wiggle.co.uk)

https://www.ukbikestore.co.uk/product/24/hope_integrated/hope-integrated-headset.html

The difference is "Using the same 36/45 deg bearing size as all the other headsets this is different to an Integral in that it uses 'seats' for the bearings as opposed to cups pressed into the frame."

Here are some pictures of my current headtube, figured they might help? ;)

Thanks for the info, btw, what does ICBM stand for? Intercontinental ballistic missile? :p
Its "Integrated Cup and Bearing Mold" but it should have been called "Integrated Crappy Bearing Model" since mine was never smooth (probably from alignment issues) on my 2001 Schwinn Rocket 88

Haha, well mine lately has been pretty rough, thanks for the link! I went ahead and ordered it. The 44.8mm makes sense, it was almost 45 but not quite.
