I'm looking for Tahoe Area Riders (or visitors) that would be interested in night riding. My 1 year old twins are keeping me too busy during daylight hours and I'm pretty religiously riding on Tuesday and Thursday nights (leave Reno around 7pm). I'm usally getting in daytime rides on the weekend, but weekend nights work too. If anyone is interested, let me know. Rides have varied from 10-20+ miles on Trails from TRT to Peavine/Hidden Valley to Galena, etc... Anyone interested?

Do you have Lights?

Hey,

I'm more than happy to ride with you on Tuesday night. I'm going to head out around 7pm. Do you have lights? Where are you staying? What do you think you'll be up for?

There are a handfull of us that get together to ride usually Sat nights. The last ride was at 4pm but the heat has us thinking 6pm would be better. Keystone trail on Peavine is a fall back ride, I believe we are going to set up to ride Steamboat ditch/hole in the ground. I'll be posting it here if you or anyone else is interested.

prmulligan sorry for the slow reply but im not going to be able to ride on Tuesday evening due to a scheduling conflict. I'm in Reno once a month or so and would be willing to try and set something up again. I have only ridden at night twice but I'm always up for anything. Is it cool to pm you next time I plan a trip into town?

Love to do some night rides

Me and my buddy were going to start doing dome night rides soon, I am recovering from knee surgery, can start on the road bike monday, should be able to ride MTB by the 24th, we both have lights, Galena would be fun or TRT. Last year we did tahoe meadows to Spooner across the Flume down to Incline, didnt finish until 1230 am, great ride.

It was!

It was by far the coolest night ride I have ever done. We left Tahoe Meadows about 7:45 pm, it was dark when we got to Tunnel Creek, the whole climb up Marlette Peak was done in the dark(ever feel like you have a bear watching you??). When we got to the top of Marlette Peak, we turned off the lights and you couldnt see your hand in front of your face. The descent down to Marlette Lake was KILLER! Riding across the Flume at night was KILLER!! Because you know it drops 1000 ft just to your left. Going down TCR was great too, I could see my 203mm rotor getting red hot!!! We might try to do it again late in August.

Great Ride

I did that ride at night shortly before I posted this message. It had been 95 degrees that afternoon and a buddy and I headed up to the meadows and got started at about 8pm. It was 52 degrees when we left the car and 39 degrees when we got back. Thankfully He carries arm warmers and I carry a small rain/wind jacket. Its awesome up there. Sunset over the lake at the high point above the meadow, tacky trails, amazing views of the lights in washoe valley and the moon over the lake. We did it as an out and back though...

I'm heading up there tonight if anyone is interested - I could also be talked into doing Dirty Harry...

I'm leaving Reno at 7 pm and have some space in the car.

Anyone?, Anyone?...
