Hey folks.

I have removed the cast from my left hand few days ago which was holding my pinky finger (stupid injury, bah).

The ligament in the main joint is shortened/stiff. I cannot form a fist, and it hurts when I try as the ligaments in that joint are sore. I have been exercising over the weekend and it is slowly getting better, but I am impatient. I want to ride =)

So, is there a way to speed up this stretching process? Does massaging the joint help? Some rub creme?

Physical therapy would be a big help.

It is not just the ligaments that are tight.....more than likely all the other tissue and muscles around are as well. Knowing the correct way to massage and stretch those areas are key to getting full range of motion back.

Pain is normal. You have a joint/injury that has been immobilized for some time.
