I got a new reign for xmas and love it to death. i will change the fork when it breaks like all splice do. i have 2 qestions.
1) What fork would be best for my riding and buget. i am an agressive trail rider. light urban rider. light freerider and i hope to enter a super d and maby a mtn x race. i have a buget of 500 bucks. i was thinking a pike.
2) what coil shocks fit on the 05 reign. i hear that only the vanilla will. what about romic or a (im not sure of the proper term) shock with the resivore mounted on another part of the frame kinda like the giant dh bike had.

i have a link to my pictures on pinkbike cuz for some reason they wolnt upload here

Yeah the Pike sounds like your best bet. You can get a model with adjustable travel if you have long climbs. The Zoke 66SL also looks very nice and can be adjusted from 80-170mm. Trouble is you have to do the adjusting via air pumps. It is also more than $500. Maybe look at the Z1's or AM's - also more $$$.

BTW PUSH is going to be doing mods for the Pike.

what about the rear shock question. this is really confusing me
It looks like only air shocks without a (fixed) reservoir will fit. I don't know of any production remote reservoir air shocks. The trouble with a coil shock is that most coils won't fit in the basket.

All in all, a pushed RP3 isn't a bad option though. Air shocks have come a long way...

I have a Manitou Nixon Elite SPVE 110-150 (not the IT travel) on the front and Manitou Swinger 3-way on the back. I find both are awesome shocks and have had adsolutely no problems riding as it sounds you do. Have no idea what these cost in US dollars sorry.

I rode a Sherman Firefly last season and loved it. If I did not already have the 04 Firefly (130mm travel) I would have got a Firefly + (150mm travel) to even out the travel. I'm going to get a Fox 36 TALAS RC2 for this season but that is way out of your budget for sure and mine to but I am going to dig deep and get one.

I was wanting to put a Fox DHX air on my Reign but just found out that there is no way :(. I have been pretty happy with my Swinger 3-way but if you get an '06 Reign with a Fox RP3 and send it here to Loveland CO to Push you'll have a sweet shock.
