Hi,

due to a crappy services on my Manitou Swinger 3-way (I'm living in France), I'm considering to get a FOX Float RP23 to replace my Swinger on my Reign 2005.
The swinger was okay to me, but after two years of good use, the shock need to be rebuild: SPV is dead. Below 120 psi in the SPV chamber, the shock make lot's of noise and there is some noticeable bob, and to run the bike with 120 psi in the SPV is not fun...

1- What is the eye-to-eye length of the stock shock on a Reign 2005? I've read on several post that it is 7.875" (200 mm). If I measure the length of my defective Swinger, I get something close to 7.5" (190 mm)!
So is 7.875 x 2.0 the correct shock length for a Reign 2005?

2- I've already read the good posts on the subject (especially the one of Steve71 (http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.ph...hlight=swinger and). Fox RP23 seem to be a good shock, except for the 2 or 3 bad reviews on mtbr for guys that have stuck down the shocks!
Any bad experience with a RP23 on a Reign 2005?

thanks,

Jessy.

It's not an RP23, but I did swap out the Swinger on my '05 Reign for a Fox Float R w/ProPedal (couldn't afford an RP23). I love it so far. The Maestro suspension is super plush and for me, the Swinger was just too soft--and it lost air in both chambers constantly.

I love the Float. It is still plush, but doesn't wallow in it's own travel anymore--plush yet firm. I imagine an RP23 would work great, considering it is basically a Float with a few more adjustments. The 7.875x2.0 is the size you need.
