[Coiler Mad]

I am about to replace the pads on my front brake of my 2004 Kona Coiler fitted with Hayes disc brakes, I am looking at the EBC range of pads, especially the red versions, I have upgraded the front disc to 203 mm, has any one had any experience of these pads, is the life much shorter?, or is it worth it for the extra friction?, or shall I just stick with the normal sintered type?

I am running reds up front on my 01 6" jobbies. I only do general XC/trail riding.

They do have better bite and maybe nicer modulation. At low speed there is a pulsing sensation but at speed they feel fine.

As far as wear goes...I haven't worn mine out...but they haven't done many miles. The sintered ones lasted ages and still weren't quite worn out when i decided on getting the reds.

I haven't experience any pump up sofar on the reds either. I think sintered pads transfer more heat to the cylinder/fluid.

The only bad commanet is the spring/clip thing they come with isn't as good as the original. the pads rattle and scuff the and bounce of the disk when not uising the brakes. I just fitted the original hayes pad clip...problem solved.
