I am 6’6” but have a long torso. I’m looking for a durable lightweight shell. Mostly looking for protection from cold air /wind on downhills. i don’t intentionally ride in the rain but some water resistance would be good just in case

pearl Izumi are like belly shirts on me.
patagonia usually run a little short for me.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic with the crazy face emoji, but mine cost me $93.75 CDN. That’s pretty good, at least by my standards. And it’s tiny when packed down.
Drinkware Tableware Product Cup Dishware

All of this fit in one of two sides of my Bontrager Rapid Pack hip bag:
Outerwear Textile Sleeve Denim Sportswear

Feather light. Full length zip for venting. Usable hood over helmet. 100% breathable but still keeps the drizzle out.

I’m sure I missed a bunch of other things too.

Patagonia is my second favorite biking attire behind 7Mesh. Both are supreme in real world conditions.

If you were saying that the jackets are too short in the front, don’t buy cycling specific jackets. I get a lot of my gear from Cabela’s, Sportsman’s Warehouse, SCHEELS: Sporting Goods, Clothing & Footwear | SCHEELS.com, Midway USA, Campmor, 70+ Apparel Companies Whose Clothing is 100% Made In The U.S.A.
I also have TJ MAX, Marshalls, a mile away that I check at Times,
I prefer a non cycling specific windbreaker for MTB. Most people go slow while mountain biking the aerodynamics is not an issue. And they have pockets, more practical than cycling specific jackets. You can also get them for cheaper and sometimes better quality.

I was being a little sarcastic, yes, but in a friendly way. I must have missed those affordable ones. The website shows most were like $200 to even some jackets $600! Sorry, no offense meant. The one you listed is a nice one though as I am also looking for a nice windbreaker, I need a blaze orange one during the hunting season here. Thanks for posting.....

No offense even entered my mind. Just trying to help.
Good riding and hunting to you!

I recently got this 7Mesh jacket. $105, regularly $175. It seems nice, but I'd need much more time to really know much. I have a bunch of 7Mesh gear, it's the best I've used so I expect the same for this wind shell. 7Mesh isn't perfect, but function and fit are excellent.

Agreed with all that. I just loaded up again on the BF sale.

The stuff fits me as though it is tailor made.

That said, I have a bunch of ArcTeryx outerwear that’s good too. And all my 45NRTH stuff rules in the winter.

I probably should have bought more 7Mesh at the pricing that was offered. I can’t tell though how much crossover there would be between some of their gear, and all the other stuff that I already have and enjoy.

Report back once you’ve had a chance to put your new stuff through its paces.
