i was wearing a Troy Lee Designs 7850 shirt, and during a fall, it kinda shifted up and my lower back impacted a pointy rock. my back is definitely sore, especially around the lower right side spinal erectors. at last no blood. i feel like a hard spine protector or a hard plastic suit could've definitely helped.

most suits look like they stop right below the ribcage, which leaves 3-5" of unprotected torso, especially lower back.

what do you guys recommend?

I use an alpinestars paragon vest. It's minimal and provides the lower class of protection, but I am very sensitive to discomfort and distracting things while riding. I have gone down with this thing on and it did do it's job of protecting my lumbar area.
