hey guys i am in the need of a new fork for my khs alite 4000, its 8 or 8 1/4 headset 1 1/8 threaded with v brakes. i want to stick with 80mm travel and something that isn't terribly heavy either but can still stand up to some abuse.
Finding an 80mm travel with v-brakes could be a challenge, especially for 26" wheels. I see plenty of newer fork models with 80mm but usually for 29ers and disc brakes only. I've got to bounce around on a bike with the newer model Rock Shox XC28 and its not a bad little fork for the price.
how much do you wanna spend? An older rock shox sid would fit the bill. Or look for a manitou r7 or black super. Not the best forks but they come in 80mm. Some of the rock shox recons and rebas have uturn feature so u can set the travel at 85mm.
