Would the reba be out of place on an urban bike? Would it last? It would be used for drops no higher than 6 foot while landing rear wheel first. I have a reba laying around and my GED has a drop off 3 with 130mm travel. I really liked riding the reba XC and I can lower the front of the reba to 80mm, and lose some weight from the drop off 3. Please let me know. Thanks!

I've seen quite a few riders on the Reba. It was never really designed around urban/DJ riding though.

A lot of slalom racers are riding the Reba.

Yeah, I thought of that, the 4x guys and I have seen Jeff Lenosky will occasionally be seen with a reba. But, all of these guys are sponsored and have mechanics standing by. Do the 4x guys really care about durabilitty as long as it works for THAT day of racing?

I think at one time the STP Zero or King or something like that (Aussie/Asian/maybe Euro model) came stock with the Reba...

Are you smooth and light?

I've seen them get demolished from aggressive trail riding and DJing, but if you're smooth then I would be very comfortable on it. I ran a Marzocchi MX Comp for a long time, and that's even thinner/flexier.

If you're hard on equipment, look at the Gold Label or Pike. The nice thing about the GL is you can run a QR hub on it, which it sounds like you want to do.

Try a revelation. Basically a pike with a lower travel and QR drop-outs. That'd be my bet over the reba.

a reba would die quickly for some real street. I dont know what your style is but if your just flowin around hopin up stuff, or your riding some dirt jumps, itd be okay, but ne thing more it shouldnt be trusted.

this french guy pornkong runs a revelation with a 3/8 shadow front hub on one of his dj/street bikes, but im guessing hes reall good cause hes like 4 pegs breakless on 2 mollys and a last raffnix and a hooligan prototype. look into the revelation w/ a bmx fornt hub

i've ridden a friends reba a few times and i'd say if you set it up correctly and didn't overly abuse it, it would probably be ok. i'd still go with something else though just to be safe. Gold Labels look like a sick ticket.
