4.25 pounds sounds reasonable to me.Miker J said:What frame weights can I expect to see with a well made, higher end, large, steel, frame? It will likely be a V brake frame and NO EBB.
Is a 4.25 # frame close?
Thanks.

My Vulture, now almost four years old, was purposely built with budget tubes long before Wade went pro. The frame weighs 5 lbs. including the eccentric. I imagine a new Vulture would weigh less as Wade now builds frames utilizing upgraded tubesets and custom bits. FWIW I'm 6'3" tall; my bike has a 25" TT so it's not exactly a "small."Miker J said:What frame weights can I expect to see with a well made, higher end, large, steel, frame? More importantly, how soon?FishMan473 said:my current salsa with Renolds 631? tubing and claimed weight (never weighted it myself) is 4.6 lbs for the 17". I'm getting me a Soulcraft soon, weight is supposed to be something like 3.5 lbs (15.5 inch frame, I'm only 145 lbs).
So, it can vary.
Ionic Johnny Rotten weighed a butt hair under 4 lbs. WITH the EBB in it. I think the EBB was about 7 oz. (size large frame)Miker J said:What frame weights can I expect to see with a well made, higher end, large, steel, frame? It will likely be a V brake frame and NO EBB.
