I've been sniffing around for a bike on craigslist and found a 2007 c-dale prophet 5. Appears to be stock according to the listed specs and said to be lightly ridden with no mechanical or structural issues.

Assuming the above is true and you actually want/like the bike, what would be a reasonable price to pay? Saw online somewhere that MSRP was 1600 new then. I've never purchased a used bike (or anything from craigslist) so any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What is the asking price, just take a few hundred off and make an offer, and work with the seller. Usually the asking price is not what the seller is willing to sell for, they will go down.

He's asking 1200.

Do folks selling used stuff tell you to take a hike when you offer 75% (i.e., several hundred less than) of their asking price?

Oh and thanks for half MSRP suggestion.
