I'm looking to switch out my vanilla coil rear shock for something lighter with less bob. I really notice the bobbing when the rear is set at 5 inches (my other bike is a hardtail stumpjumper so maybe it's just to be expected)..

it's a k2 lithium, not a true four bar as the rear pivot is on the seatstay...

I ride agressively and weigh about 190 lbs.

I've narrowed it down to a Cane Creek cloud nine, Fox float R pro pedal and something along the lines of the new rock shox MC/Pearl line.,.

any suggestionss?

I tried to search but couldnt find anything specific to my bike. thanks

I'd strongly recommend NOT using a C9. You have a high leverage ratio, so trying to control the air in that shock will be a chore. I found out the hard way with my San Andreas. Also, if you're looking for something "with less bob" the C9 doesn't really have any provision for helping you here, either.

Since you're trying to stay away from a coil shock, i'd say an air/oil unit (not all air!), with some form of low speed compression damping adjustment. The Fox would suit your needs nicely, maybe with a trip to Push, if not right away, then upon first rebuild.

Just not a C9. :nono:

what about a RS pearl? air shock with adjustable platform.
If you're still talking about the K2 Lithium, then yes, it would be a step in the better direction, when wanting similar attributes as what the OP requested.
