I am getting that annoying play in the lower bushings on my Fox Float RL (clunking over bumps, and can be felt if I lift the rear end of the bike). It happens about every 2 yrs. (S-Works 2002 FSRxc). I am tired of paying the LBS to do this, not to mention the wait of 1 week, so is this an easy at home fix, and WHERE can I order the bushings replacement? I have searched the web, but I did not find anything (I have little patience for web searches). Specialized website has nothing to help me, and same with Fox.
SO:
Is it an easy fix?
Where can I order the bushings from?

THANX! :D

You could try Enduro. They don't have your specific model's parts listed, but one of their kits may work. Shoot them an email.

Thanks, but they do not have what I need.
I finally broke down and called the LBS, they said Specialized does not carry that bushing anymore, but have a rebuild, or some such replacement kit that costs $100, and another 60-80 for them to install it!
SH!T!
Taking good care of old bikes is a pain, now I am going to have to buy a $100 kit when the old bushing cost me under $10!!!!
Don't any folks from Specialized check in to this forum? I have 2 Specialized bikes, so I am a very good customer, hopefullly someone working for Specialized reads this and can help me avoid an expensive retro-fit/rebuild, or whatever.
AAARRGGHH!
(When It Rains, It Pours: Now my Hardtail Stumpy is making suspicious sounds in the BB area.......great googly moogly!!!!)

Wait a minute-Are you talking about the shock itself? I thought you were talking about the linkage bushings. Do you mean the eyelet bushings that attach the shock to the linkage? Try Push Industries. Replacing those particular bushings is part of their factory tune service-they may be able to sell you those.

Yes, I am refering to that bushing, of the lower end eyelet. According to the LBS, they do not make the bushing for that anymore, but a kit to update to the new kind is available. Sounds like a way to screw me out of $100+.

I will try Push, I am hoping to find a cheaper way to get on my FSR again.
I am afraid if I keep riding it, it will cause more damage.

Also try mtnbiker4life on this forum. He has a tool to do the job and may have the DU bushings too.
Thank you 00sable, I will keep that in mind, but thanks to kingbozo directing me to Push Ind., I may soon be riding my fully again.
Push guy said ANY bike shop should be able to get that part and said I should try another shop, if that does not prove successful, then I will order from Push Ind.
