Has anyone else noticed how the rear brake cable on the 575 wants to become longer under the bottom bracket? Is this a potential issue and if so how do you keep yours from gathering slack down there. Being longer down below being a good thing shouldn't apply here....

On my 2005, I have it routed over the bottom bracket / external bearing..... although it's kind of hard to see in this picture.

...you can just make out the cable routed over the non-drive crank arm/BB area. It's from the Yeti site. Your cable is routed wrong (at least differently, 'wrong' is subjective)

I usually wrap cables that move within the zipties with a small strip of rubber from and old inner tube. Keeps everything in place.

yes, both cables should go over the bottom bracket - see cable routing PDF on Yeti website.

I also have put a frame protector patch on the area where the cable goes over the BB and also on the edge of the swingarm where the brake hose may rub.

Hmm. Odd that they routed the cable wrong. I guess the best way to reroute it would be to remove the brake caliper and do it that way so that no bleeding is required, right?

Yes, best to do it by removing the caliper.

I have noticed that many dealers in the UK do it wrong too - cannot understand why as one of them, Bromley Bike Co is also the importer.

...Yes. Well maybe not the only one.

It naturally lines up better (at least with my Mags) and is better protected when on the inside of the stay.
