I am posting this here because I have searched for a clear answer in past and did not find one. I have seen this discussed and speculated over but never a clear answer.

I have a 2012 5-Spot. The seat tube comes reamed to 30.9mm. However it is only reamed down about 8”.

The dropper I want to use needs to insert about 8-3/4”.

I called Turner a couple months ago and asked if it is OK to ream the seat tube out another inch down. I got a message back saying that yes, it was fine to do so.

So in case anyone is wondering.... there you go.

you are lucky, I asked a bunch of local bike shops in Charlotte, NC and no one had the tooling.

Yes, I think our cycling community is very lucky to have this guy around.

His shop is usually only open 4 days a week for 2-3 hours in the evenings, and it is basically run out of the guy's garage and barn. His day job involves a bit of high-precision machining, and he is often doing off the wall projects on his own as well.

When I needed some custom shims he cranked them out the next evening.
