Okay, so I was on the vintage board and somebody posts in response to a question that there is a site called www.archive.org that has lots of old info. I go there and they basically have been archiving web pages for years. I put in mtbr and pulled up this from 1997

Click on the link for MTBR keeps getting shut down. It will remind you why the advertisers are needed.

When I was 8 years old...there were still some "hard wired" computers around and "software" was a big stake of punch cards! :)
Ancient

That was weird to see once again...
Looking for one of my old posts... Can't find one... :?

When I was 8 years old?
) The term "hypertext", was first mentioned.
) TTL was invented.
) There was no soft / removal data media available (CD's or before that- floppy discs).

How Old is Old ?
I wasn't on MTBR back then but I still don't like this format :)

I like the debates (Rapidfire Vs Gripshift etc....) they're just such a good way for the confrontational types to work things out.
That's a really good archive!! Jan. 25 1997! I think I was still working full time at the time with 2 sites, mtb and audio. One man gang. I did all the engineering, sales and art. Check out this gem:

The green lizard is Mozilla which was the Netscape mascot... which I was a big fan of. I couldn't re-create that animation today even if I tried!

Passion was not born then but Roadies Rejoice was around????

I didn't see the chat section

MTBR Chat was my first dip into MTBR as dirtdiva, remember poptart ?
Hey francois,

Is there a way to acess those Passion posts from before we switched to vBulletin? There are a couple of my photo-stories on there that I'd like to save.

Many thanks (and sorry if this has been answered),
Tim
(mtbr'er since 1998)
Ahhhh Belay that request.

I see the references to http://archive.mtbr.com in a recent post. Sigh... Anyway to get the pictures back?
