Just curious how many of you are running your forks at 140 vs 150?

When I first got my Rascal, I set it up with a coil converted fork that was set to 140. But the weight was just way too much, so I swapped it for a 150 Lyrik. Been riding it that way for a while now, but thinking about dropping it down to 140. Any thoughts?

I’ve had the rascal since it was released. Since that time, I had one fork, and that was the Pike at 140. I did two rebuilds, and installed the MRP Ramp cartridge about halfway through. I always wanted something a little beefier for the bike park days, and knew I would eventually upgrade to the Lyrik at 150.

However, just a couple months ago I bit on the limited edition Cane Creek Helm at 150. I have taken about 10 rides with it, and I can confidently I will not be going back. To be fair, I think the A2C on the Helm sits just in between the 140 and 150 Lyrik. So from that standpoint it doesn’t feel any different from a Geo standpoint. The fork, while heavier, just feels so much burlier than the Pike.

It took me at least two rides to really dial it in, but it’s been great. So, if you like the 150, keep rolling with it. Don’t see a need to drop to 140.

Thanks for the feedback. Not a lot of action on this sub-forum.

Guess I'm just trying to decide what to do with the Rascal, and I don't like how much the front end drifts on steeper climbs. I think it's a great bike, but it's just too heavy for the trails I bought it to ride. (I have a stable of bikes, each with their own purpose.) I know lowering the fork won't help with weight, but thought maybe it'd make it a bit more playful. Odds are I'll be selling the frame soon and getting a shorter travel 29er, maybe even a Ranger. I have the Pike 140 which comes on the bike stock and love it for 95% of the riding I do - climbs, descents, drops, small jumps. Only time I wish it was a little bigger is on super chattery or bumpy long and steep descents, but that also might be my 180mm rotors and skinny weak arms. I have thought about upgrading to 150, but don't see it as necessary at all because I really like how the bike feels now. Have you called Revel and asked for their feedback? They're super helpful

The Rascal is my only bike and I use it as my all around trail/bike park/all mountain/whatever bike and for that it is perfect. Never tried a Ranger but they look sick and it sounds like everyone loves them as well
